the Class of 2024 honours 217 master’s and bachelor’s graduates at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE, November 21, 2024: Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) proudly celebrated its 15th cohort’s graduation in a ceremony held at Emirates Palace’s Auditorium on November 20 under the patronage of Her Excellency Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chair of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi’s Board of Trustees.
The Class of 2024 honored 217 graduates, including 146 bachelor’s, 66 master’s, and 5 diplomas from the Continuing Education Centre, marking a milestone of academic excellence. This diverse class features graduates from 36 nationalities, with 51.6% Emirati representation, underscoring SUAD’s commitment to nurturing local talent alongside its global academic mission.
Notable graduates include Emirati equestrian rider Omar Al Marzouqi, who earned a double bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Sociology while representing the UAE at the Paris Olympics. Another standout is Amna Al Qubaisi, the first female Emirati racing driver, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Records Management and Archival Science and is set to race in Qatar’s F1 Academy next week.
Keynote addresses from distinguished leaders like HE Zaki Nusseibeh, Professor Nathalie Drach-Temam, and Professor Nathalie Martial-Braz highlighted the importance of education in shaping resilient, innovative leaders prepared to tackle global challenges.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt reflections, a commitment to fostering global understanding, and recognition of the graduates’ potential to create lasting societal impact. The Class of 2024 now joins SUAD’s esteemed alumni network, poised to excel in their respective fields worldwide.
