Dubai, 13 November 2024 – e& UAE, the telecom division of e&, has signed an MoU with Dubai Airports to explore the implementation of a 5G Private Network, marking the region’s first deployment of private 5G in an airport. This collaboration aims to enhance airport operations, optimize luggage handling, streamline passenger flow, and improve shopping experiences through high-speed, seamless connectivity.
The 5G Private Network will boost operational efficiency at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) by supporting automated passenger management systems and improving ground service operations, reducing costs and congestion. This advanced network also ensures enhanced security through SIM-based authentication, enabling smooth, uninterrupted connectivity across all airport areas.

Following successful trials in the oil and gas sector with ADNOC, e& UAE is ready to apply its 5G expertise to the aviation industry, with plans to finalize deployment and business models for the 5G network in the coming months.
