The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced it is now certified to ISMS ISO 27001, for its Security Management System, and ISO 20000 IT Service Management, after successfully meeting the highest standards approved to obtain these two certificates and fulfilling all necessary requirements.
This comes following comprehensive and rigorous audits conducted by a team of international experts and arbitrators to ensure that MoHAP’s procedures being followed comply fully with international quality standards in the field of information technology security.
The ministry said it will spare no effort to implement global best practices in information security management systems, while also adopting comprehensive quality standards to improve customer experience, protect data, and enhance cybersecurity.
Outstanding achievement
Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector MoHAP, stressed that the new achievement will further fuel MoHAP’s non-stop journey towards institutional excellence, and boost its rennetless efforts to enhance performance utilizing the latest digital techniques and systems.
“Being awarded with the two certificates reflects one thing. We are completely committed to international best practices for IT security systems,” Al Dashti said.
He added: “The ministry pays utmost attention to applying the best IT and security system solutions to raise the caliber of the country’s healthcare system and help realize the UAE Digital Strategy. We are truly keen to leverage our cutting-edge skills and expertise to protect digital assets and infrastructure and boost national efforts to develop a secure digital ecosystem.”
Conducive institutional environment
Al Dashti went on to say: “Obtaining the two ISO certificates reaffirms that MoHAP is moving in the right direction towards establishing a conducive institutional environment with advanced technical infrastructure that supports innovation and utilizes smart technology according to the latest artificial intelligence techniques and data analysis. We are eventually looking forward to providing distinguished services that ensure the happiness of customers in accordance with the highest international standards”.
For his part, Sameer Khoory, MoHAP’s Director of Information Technology, lauded the ministry’s outstanding efforts being made to meet all quality standards, saying that the ISO certificates have been the result of well-thought-out plans that proved effective during the internal and external audits.
