Acer Classroom: Bridging the Gap Between Education and Work

In partnership with Icono, the Sant Josep Obrer Educational Center developed the Acer Classroom, a specialized learning space for students pursuing Microinformatics Systems and Networks. Here, students gain real-world experience in diagnosing and repairing IT equipment, utilizing devices donated by Acer to enhance their practical skills.

“The Acer Classroom in Sant Josep Obrer is one of our most significant collaborations,” says Joan Moll, Director of the Educational Center. “This project connects students with the IT industry early on, motivating them to pursue careers in tech,” adds Andreu Rigo, Head of IT.

Extracurriculars That Equip Students for Success

“Acer’s extracurriculars allow students to explore diverse fields and discover their passion,” says Cristina Pez, Acer EMEA Commercial Director. “It’s crucial to inspire schools to adopt modern learning methods and equip them with the tools to maintain their IT resources.”

Acer’s Master Class covers essential PC maintenance tips that can extend the lifespan of a computer by 5–8 years. These include:

  • Battery care: Unplugging once fully charged
  • Routine malware scans
  • Disk cleanup and defragmentation
  • Regular OS updates
  • Data backup to prevent loss
  • Cooling management to avoid performance issues

Acer’s in-house service, supported by certified technicians, ensures that schools receive professional IT maintenance support, empowering students to think critically and develop practical skills.
