Dubai, UAE October 16, 2024 – The 2024 edition of Expand North Star has established an unparalleled platform for participating startups to showcase their unique innovations in smart technologies, many of which are being unveiled for the first time. This event further cements Dubai’s position as a global gateway for cutting-edge technologies.
Hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy at Dubai Harbour from October 13-16, Expand North Star 2024, organized by Dubai World Trade Centre, has allowed startups to reveal innovative digital solutions and advanced technologies that cater to the needs of diverse sectors, significantly contributing to the evolution of the global digital economy.
The event brought together some of the brightest creative minds from around the world, providing a venue for connection and the showcasing of the latest technological advancements. The exhibition featured groundbreaking solutions across various domains, including sustainable water generation, revolutionary aviation propulsion systems, mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging, advanced medical imaging, and more.
Among the standout participants is CycloTech, an Austrian startup poised to revolutionize urban transport with its innovative cyclo rotor propulsion system. This technology is particularly suited for flying cars and other forms of individual air mobility, allowing for thrust vectoring that enables aircraft to maneuver with unprecedented agility.
Ramy Korkis Kanaan, Flight Test Engineer at CycloTech, emphasized Dubai’s strategic appeal for the company’s expansion, stating, “Dubai is a hub for future technologies. Expand North Star has provided an incredible opportunity to connect with potential partners and investors in the UAE and the broader Arab region.”
Beijing Sebo, a Chinese company, introduced its hands-free mobile charging solution for electric vehicles. Users can request a charge through an app, and the company’s self-driving charging equipment will arrive at their specified location. Lin Lin, General Manager for Overseas Business at Sebo, identified Dubai as a prime market for their service, saying, “Dubai’s rapidly growing electric vehicle adoption rate and commitment to sustainability make it an ideal location to launch and expand our services.”
Mahwa, a UAE-based company under the Bainuna Group, showcased its innovative atmospheric water generation technology. Using a patented system called iGenius, the company creates pure drinking water from air, addressing the pressing issue of water scarcity.
Additionally, Holoeyes, a Japanese startup, presented its medical visualization devices that leverage cloud technology to enhance medical education, surgical planning, and knowledge sharing among healthcare professionals.
Through these innovative presentations, Expand North Star 2024 underscores Dubai’s role as a vibrant hub for technological advancement and a catalyst for the future of the global digital economy.
