OPUL Jets Partners with SpaceX to Elevate In-Flight Connectivity with Starlink Internet

Dubai, 30th September 2024: OPUL Jets, a premier private jet charter provider based at Al Maktoum International Airport, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink Aviation to significantly enhance its fleet’s connectivity capabilities. This strategic alliance will equip OPUL Jets’ compatible aircraft with cutting-edge satellite internet technology, ensuring passengers enjoy unparalleled connectivity during their flights.

Starlink Aviation, the aerospace division of SpaceX, is renowned for revolutionizing in-flight connectivity through its advanced satellite internet solutions. With this new installation, OPUL Jets passengers can experience high-speed internet with low latency, allowing seamless access to streaming services, live sports, movies, and more.

As a leader in private aviation, OPUL Jets operates a diverse fleet that includes Bombardier mid-size, super mid-size, and ultra-long-range jets from strategically located bases in London, Dubai, Mumbai, and the Isle of Man. The Starlink system promises impressive download speeds ranging from 40 to 220 Mbps and upload speeds of 8 to 25 Mbps, all with latency under 99 milliseconds. This exceptional performance enables passengers to stay connected, whether conducting business, watching live events, or simply browsing the web.

The installation of the Starlink system will commence with OPUL Jets’ Bombardier Global Express XRS, an ultra-long-range jet designed for intercontinental travel with a remarkable range of 6,500 nautical miles. The aircraft features a 16-passenger configuration, offering a luxurious environment for both work and leisure, complete with onboard catering facilities.

“Integrating Starlink technology into our fleet marks a transformative milestone for OPUL Jets, positioning us among the world’s leading private jet companies,” said Harry Ackerman, Group CEO. “Our commitment to delivering a superior travel experience aligns perfectly with Starlink’s capabilities, ensuring our passengers remain connected to what matters most, no matter where they are in the world.”

The installation process for the Starlink hardware is seamless and efficient, typically carried out during routine maintenance checks to avoid service disruptions. Each aircraft will be outfitted with an Aero Terminal (the antenna), a Power Supply Unit, and two Wireless Access Points, all connected with minimal wiring. This smooth installation was executed by ACC Columbia in Germany, with support from the Starlink Aviation technical team.
