Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Yspot, the unique and forward-thinking platform designed to revolutionize connectivity between youth and organizations, announces the commencement of its ‘Autumn Internships’, in partnership with industry leaders, after celebrating the success of its summer pilot program.
As part of its mission to support students in future career choices, the newly-launched, female-led startup, Y-Spot, has partnered with leading organizations, GEMS, Ingram Micro and L’Oreal, to create collaboration-based internships. Yspot completed their summer program that saw 27 students from all backgrounds and academic levels carefully vetted and placed in designated industries. Among the departments that students were provided with, included Healthcare, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Communications, Accounting, Sales, Legal Admin, and AI.
Co-created with the organizations, the summer Internships were structured with a three-phase program, for all the interns to work through. The phases included training, mentorship and shadowing followed by a presentation delivered by each intern. The self learning tracks focused on professional skills such as time management, public
speaking and workplace etiquette. The summer pilot program was an immeasurable success and students were able to develop skills in a real-work environment, gain exposure to industry knowledge, and transform passions into professions throughout the program.
Following the success of the pilot program, Yspot has now launched its Autumn Internship Program, opening applications for the Autumn Internship Program for students and organisations to collaborate, immerse and empower themselves in a supportive and constructive working environment. The Autumn Internships will have three programs running with each ranging in timeframes from 3-6 weeks. The three programs will include the structured internships as well as department hopping and community support internships.
Matthew Tompkins, Director of Student Employment at GEMS Education commented “We have been so impressed by the progress that GEMS students made whilst participating on the Yspot Summer Internship programmes. We would like to thank Yspot for the fantastic opportunities they offered the students at GEMS.”
“Interns are valuable to our company, and at Ingram Micro, we intend to open possibilities to new and unique talents. This summer we were extremely proud to collaborate with Yspot and prepare 5 school students for the future of work and provide them with the working experience they need to achieve their professional aspirations. We thank Yspot for all that they do for the community, and we also thank the mentors for their time and efforts to give the best experience to our interns, and finally thank you to our incredible interns who are bringing new and fresh perspectives to our company and nicely contributing to our GPTW culture.” comments Guitta Kahaleh the Talent Acquisition & Development Manager, MEA at Ingram Micro.
“This summer, we were grateful to partner with YSPOT on an internship program for young school students. It was inspiring to witness young minds grasp the business world so quickly. We hope that they have learned from this experience as we surely have. Looking forward to further collaboration with YSPOT and youth initiatives.” comments Rainer Iveson, Head of Talent MENA at L’oreal.
